What Makes This Converter Different

Eight Formats In and Out

Convert between JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF and HEIC in any direction. Not just the common combinations — every format works as both input and output giving you complete flexibility.

Quality Control for Lossy Formats

When converting to JPG or WebP, a quality slider lets you choose the exact balance between file size and visual quality. Useful when you need to hit a specific file size target while keeping the image looking good.

Transparency Handling

Converting PNG or WebP files with transparent backgrounds keeps that transparency intact when the output format supports it. Converting to JPG fills transparent areas with white or a custom background colour you choose.

Batch Format Conversion

Drop an entire folder of images, select them all and convert everything to the same format in one step. Saves hours compared to converting files one by one. Download the complete batch as a ZIP.

Convert an Image in Three Steps

STEP 1

Drop your image

Drag one or more files into the workspace. Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC and SVG as input

STEP 2

Choose your output format

Select your target format, adjust quality if needed and set transparency options for formats that support it

STEP 3

Download

Preview the converted result and download the file or export the full batch as a ZIP

Which Format Should You Use?

JPG

Best for photos. Small file size. No transparency. Universal compatibility.

PNG

Best for graphics, logos, screenshots. Supports transparency. Larger files than JPG.

WebP

Best for websites. 25 to 35 percent smaller than JPG at the same quality. Supported by all modern browsers.

AVIF

Newest format. Even smaller than WebP. Best compression available. Not supported by all older software yet.

GIF

Limited to 256 colours. Only format here that supports animation. Best for simple graphics.

TIFF

Lossless, very large files. Used in professional photography and print workflows.

BMP

Uncompressed Windows format. Large files, rarely needed outside legacy software.

HEIC

Apple's default photo format on iPhones. High quality at small file sizes. Convert to JPG or PNG for wider compatibility.

Convert With a Single Command

Type your conversion directly in the command bar:

convert jpg
convert webp
to png
convert avif

Chain with other tools: resize 1200x800 | convert webp | compress 85 — resize, convert and compress in one run.

Privacy Note

All conversions happen in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files are never uploaded or stored anywhere.

Common Questions

How do I convert a HEIC photo from my iPhone to JPG?+

Drop your HEIC file into the workspace, select JPG as the output format and download. The conversion handles the format change automatically with no quality loss beyond what JPG compression applies.

Will converting to WebP reduce my file size?+

In most cases yes, significantly. WebP typically produces files 25 to 35 percent smaller than JPG at the same visual quality level, which is why it has become the preferred format for web images.

Can I convert PNG to JPG without losing the transparent background?+

JPG does not support transparency so transparent areas will be filled. You can choose the fill colour before converting. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP or keep it as PNG.

What is the difference between AVIF and WebP?+

Both are modern web formats but AVIF generally achieves better compression than WebP, meaning smaller files at the same quality. AVIF has slightly less browser and software support, making WebP the safer choice for most situations right now.

Can I batch convert hundreds of images at once?+

Yes. Add all your images to the workspace, select them all and apply your chosen format. The tool processes every file and packages them into a single ZIP download.

Does converting an image reduce its quality?+

Converting between lossless formats like PNG to PNG or PNG to BMP does not reduce quality. Converting to a lossy format like JPG or WebP applies compression — use the quality slider at 85 or above to keep the result looking sharp.
